Marksmanship and Sniper

Howdy doody, long time no seey...

Today's topic is about marksmanship and sniper. Wondering what's happening? Read on...

In today's uncertain field of relationships (the Boy-Chase-Girl kind or whatever gender-chase-whatever gender, depending on which way you swing), its difficult to settle down with the other half. So how does that link to today's topic of marksman and sniper? Read on...

A marksman is somebody who can shoot reasonably accurately while a sniper is somebody who not only shoots accurately (not reasonably!) but also goes with the motto, "one shot, one kill". Applying this concept to a relationship from a guy's point of view, the girls are the "target(s)". [Not that the author is sexist but it is just for ease of reference only, furthermore the writer does not chase guys.]

For a marksman, he shoots reasonably accurately. In other words, he gets the girls but occasionally he misses or makes a mistake and thus end up with a broken heart. But as with most cases, he can try again until he is successful. As with marksmanship, it takes patience to become a marksman. Hence, it will take quite some time before he finds the other half who not only value him for who he is and love him whole-heartedly for it.

For a sniper, in line with their reputation of "one shot, one kill.", they are the most successful in relationships because the first woman they find is the one that is deigned theirs for life, hopefully.

Take heart that even if you are not a sniper, each relationship is an enriching experience which allows you to get to know yourself even better than before. As with the marksman, keep on trying and one day you might just get her when you least expect it. A sniper is a marksman but a marksman need not be a sniper to be a marksman.

To end, here's a quote from Leo Tolstoy, its basis is a bit extreme but I think it forms the crux of a successful relationship : What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility.

Adios~
