Friday, December 29, 2006 ~Toiletology~ Sitting on a toilet bowl one day, I look around the cubicle I was in and suddenly it came to me that there was a relationship between the level of development and the state the toilet is in... So what should the state of the toilet be given a mature state?? Read on...... Starting from the ceiling, there should not be any toilet paper clumps stuck up there. Otherwise it would mean that either the cleaners are not doing their job or that there are too many kiddies throwing wet clumpy toilet paper up onto the ceiling such that the cleaners are unable to clear them away in time (the usual demand-and-supply scenario...) . Shifting our point of view lower to the cubicle, the cubicle walls should be free of graffiti or any desecration of any kind. Otherwise it only serve to reflect that there are still a lot of immature bobos out there.. Of course, the cubicle doors must also be in proper condition. If it is slanted or hanging off the hinges precariously, it only goes to show how violent the society is. Definitely, in the cubicle, we cannot forget the most essential item ... the TOILET PAPER!!! Lack of toilet paper is a give-away on how immature the society is because the reason for not having toilet paper is usually that the users do not know how to use them properly. You may think that the cleaners forgot to replace the used rolls, however, if all the cubicles do not have them, perhaps its too much of a coincidence eh?? After using the toilet, what must one do??? WASH HANDS of course.. So now let's shift out focus to the basin. Looking inside the basin, there shouldn't be anything stuck in the sink. On the other hand, there shouldn't be any vomit splattered around. Looking at the taps, if the taps are automated, it shows that the society must be quite developed. After focussing on the toilet cubicles and washing point, let's look at the toilet on the whole. For a developed country, going to the toilet is to be AN EXPERIENCE! Feeling the ambience of the toilet with its gentle lighting and faint fragrance, one might actually think that one is anywhere but the toilet. Of course, if you find the smell and sight too overpowering, its time to to be off ASAP!! That's all for TOILETOLOGY for now. If you have any contributions, feel free to tell me and I will publish your views!! Till next time.......ADIOS~ |
