Monday, January 09, 2006 Green Green Grass...... Have you ever look at a grassy field and wonder why do all the grass grow upwards? Or why do some have their tip bending towards the ground while trying to grow up? Scientifically speaking, grass grow upwards because of the sun. However, this is not a certified scientist speaking, so...... Grass grow upwards because they can't be growing downwards, otherwise you will not be seeing grass on a field would you? Anyway you see, the Earth's gravitational field is pulling everything towards its centre, ie downwards. Thanks to Mr Issac Newton, we have develop the stubborn rule of N3L for all things bigger than an atom: For ever action, there must be an equal and opposite reaction. So to counter the Earth's gravitational pull, the grass has to grow upwards! What other fantasical ideas do you have? Feel free to contribute. =) |
