NYJC BAMINTON CHALET
(13 - 15 June 2005)

My first chalet to date :S It was definitely an enriching experience.
This chalet would be possible only because of the generous sponsorship of Alex. There was an underestimate of the budget. In the end, we ended up spending more than expected.

On the first day, we booked in and then go about roller-skating. Although it was fun, it was also a painful experience. After which, we went to alex's house to collect the BBQ stuff. As a treat, Alex once again is able to flaunt his home off again. Nevertheless, he was very sporting and even let us borrowed his mini hi-fi set. In the evening, after the supper he treated us, we went back to the chalet and played BlackJack. In the end, the God of Fortune lost money and slept like a Fortune Cat.

At the dawn of the second day, Heidi, Stella, Raymond, Willie, Sherwin and Zhi Xian went to watch the sunrise. At about 4am, we made our way to one end of the beach to catch the sunrise. The journey there was long and ardous. When we arrived, we were 45 mins early and sat at a shelter and chatted while we wait. Weirdly, the first topic discussed was about the supernatural. Eventually, all of us took a few naps here and there while waiting for the sunrise. Before the sunrise, we saw some spectacular scenes. The initially calmed sea began to become more choppy as the change of tide began. When the sun finally rose, it was a pity tha the horizon was obscured by ships at the dock. As we made our way back, many pictures of the sky were taken; some turned out to be quite amazing.

As the day proceeds, the rest of the team arrived and the BBQ went underway. Poor Raymond....he was constantly picked on by alex to do the cooking. In the end, we had a glut of food which we eventually threw away.

On the third day, we packed up and had a few rounds of blackjack before we left. We went to Tampines Mall and had a few rounds of pool and watched a movie, Monster-In-Law before each of us finally made their way home.

Overall, although the outcome wasn't as expected, everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves. Hopefully, there will be another one soon.
